Sympathy Cravings??? January 28, 2008

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 1:37 pm

Stephen and I have been graced with the presence of stuffy and runny noses and a cough.  I have a sore throat too, he can’t tell me if his hurts so, I will guess yes it hurts too.  I knew this was going to happen.  Last Sunday we went to a friends house where there was 2 kids with runny noses and nasty hacking coughs.  I did my best to keep things out of Stephens mouth and wash hands many times.  So all that effort was for nothing because we got it anyway.

Here is a recap of last night (while watching Bobby Flays Throwdown: Ice Cream Sundae)

9:45pm From Stephen’s room: Cough, Cough, Cough

Robin: Ohhh, the poor little guy

Me: Cough, Blow nose, sneeze 3 times, blow nose…

Robin: Do you have to do that, I can’t hear the TV.  Man, I really want an ice cream sundae now, I buy you fly.

Me: Are you crazy…………………. (I think you can fill in the rest)

Another New Favorite January 26, 2008

If you are anything like me, you hate washing or rinsing your dishes after they just finished a cycle in the dishwasher.  I know what you are thinking…. I do rinse EVERYTHING off before it is even put in the dishwasher.  (I know it is done to everything because I apparently am the only one in my house that knows how to open the door to the dishwasher.)  I have tried several different products to solve the mystery gunk problem and came across the greatest one yet:

I haven’t had to rinse one dish yet, not even one water spot on a glass.  It has cut my daily task of emptying the dishwasher time in half!!

Boring post, I know, but I had to mention it.  It is the little things in life that make us housewives happy.

Since when are cable guys early? January 22, 2008

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 7:56 pm

I finally convinced Robin that we need to have Road Runner again, if for nothing else to do our taxes online. Oh happy day!! Robin set everything up of course with out looking at the calendar to realize that both Stephen and I have lots of appointments coming up.  So on Friday he tells me they are coming Tuesday between 1 and 3pm.  Wouldn’t you know Stephen has an appointment at 1:45pm on Tuesday.  So I spend 2 days playing phone tag to change one of the appointments.  I end up changing Stephen’s. Now it is Tuesday. Then the damn door bell rings at 11:30.  I just layed Stephen down for a nap at 11 and jumped in the shower. So bathrobe on and answer the door.  CABLE GUY!!

“I hope you don’t mind that I am early.”

Me: No not at all, come in.  Here is the computer, excuse me while I get dressed.

Then he needs to see the box where the cable comes into the apartment.  Of course that is in the closet in Stephen’s room.  Nap time over.

TIME WARNER BASTARDS!!!

The day from HELL! November 16, 2007

Filed under: Family, Leetopia, Random — Renee @ 2:32 pm

It all started at 4am when Lyhna started vomiting, which subsequently woke up Stephen.  The barfing continued all day until 1pm when I finally called her mother to come get her because I had a lot of running around to do to get things organized to go up north for opening weekend.  Dear old mommy didn’t take her to the doctor until 6pm when Lyhna started to complain about right side pain.  Hello appendix?!? So then they go to the hopital to meet with a surgen to see if it needs to come out.  While all this was going on Robin was off sighting in his gun.  I finally got ahold of him to tell him what was going on.  Well, on his way home he took out a 9-point buck with the car.  GREAT!! Lyhna finally gets home so we go see her at 8:30ish.  She needed to go to a follow-up this morning at 7am.  In the end: The appendix is staying in, she needs to be rehydrated, the car needs a new radiator among other things, and our plan to be at the cabin all day Friday has been thwarted.  Lyhna will not be coming with us, and we won’t get there until 3 or 4 at the earliest (depending on the vehicle situation).

I came across this at work today, I laughed out loud. My personal favorite is the harness to strap your kid to the bathroom door…

Crazies in the Grocery Store August 1, 2007

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 11:17 pm

So while waiting in the check out at the grocery store this giant oger like man and his wife get in line behind me.  They start talking and making faces at Stephen, no big deal.  Then they notice the bump still on his head from last week.  Like everyone else that sees it, they too ask what happened.  So I tell them and instantly this crazy Mr Buss  like man starts repeating “Bam Bam, Heal me jesus!” No joking, he said it like 20 times.  In the mean time this guy totally freaked out Stephen to the point where he is practically ripping my shirt off from the clawing at me.  The guy wouldn’t quit.  It was quite obvious that Stephen was not enjoying his games and relentless prayers.  I am not the type of person to tell off random crazies, but this guy was really testing me.

Seriously Freaking Out!! July 25, 2007

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 7:26 pm

How do you plan for being away from your child for over a month?  There is a possiblilty that I will be taking part in a research study in Madison that pays handsomely.  After agonizing over the subject for weeks, I decided that in the long run I would be doing the right thing for my family.  And as an added bonus this will give father and son a good opportunity for quality time together without a hovering mommy.

SOOOO, now that I have decided to go (if I get accepted first), my list of things to do before I go has grown to astromonical proportions.  The first thing that I had to take care of was finding child care.  I spent one whole week all day everyday calling day cares, calling friends will kids in day care to find one that would work….No Deal!! No openings for 1 year olds, don’t open early enough, can’t stay for 10+ hours etc… So finally I found a friend of a friend to cover the week and a half that I didn’t get family to help out.  Luckily Robin is taking 2 weeks of vacation and the mother in law offered to fly out and stay for nearly a month.  So the big problem has been taken care of.  So, now I have to try to make a schedule for a 1 year old who sleeps until at least 8am that starts at 5:30am to go to the sitter.  How the hell do you do that, other than actually get him up at 5:30 every day now until he actually has to go there (Mommy really likes her sleep so I’m not sure how that will go).  Does Daddy actually know how much food, snacks, diapers and everything else to pack for a day?  Also, Stephen has his 1 year check up while I am gone, the doctor won’t let me change it to the week before because of immunization schedules.  So now I have to write down the answer to every possible question for the hubby because, honestly, he has no clue what goes on during the day (how many ounces of formula or juice/day, hours of sleep at naptime/night time, poopy diapers, peepee diapers the list goes on and on.

I am having an anxiety attack right now thinking about it all.  I think the worst part of all is that I have to give up complete control of Stephen.  Lord help me!! The only thing that is going to get me through this is knowing that the check at the end is going to be a nice down payment on a house!

Crawling is a thing of the past July 24, 2007

Filed under: Evil Beeyotch, Milestones, Random — Renee @ 8:04 pm

Stephen has given up completely on crawling.  He has even figured out how to stand up all by himself, no more crawling over to the wall or couch to help stand up.  He now runs away from me and even tries to push me out of the way if he is trying to get at something he knows he shouldn’t have.
In other news, I have been accused of stealing!! Do you believe that?  Anyone close to be knows about the situation between us and the ex-wife, it has been absolute hell the past couple of months.  Well, after a little sit down with her this past weekend regarding weekend time with Lyhna the ex finally comes clean and reveals the reason that she has been so awful lately is that they (mainly her husband)  think that I took money from their house while babysitting for her 2 year old. Long story short–  Apparently there was a substancial amount of money somewhere (that I never even saw) and some was missing when her husband got home from work.  And since I have no way of proving that I didn’t take this money months ago, there is no way to solve the problem.  Seriously, I was sick to my stomach when she said this.  I get more and more upset with her every second that I think about it.  If I had my way, I would never see or speak to her or her husband again.  I have never in my life been accused to such a thing. Enough about that…Karma works in funny ways, I am convinced that the evil beeyotch and her husband will get theirs someday, and I will laugh my ass of when it happens!!
