Let The Countdown Begin!!

4 Will Soon Become 5!!

It’s Been Awhile… December 1, 2007

It’s been a couple of weeks since my last post.  So here is what has been happing:

1. We finally made it to the cabin for opening weekend.  Day one was fine. At about 1am Friday morning Stephen started the vomiting.  You can’t give a 15 1/2 month old a bucket and tell them to aim for that.  So Grandma went to the laundromat for me when about 3 towels, 3 blankies (including the favorite one), 2 pairs of jammies and the sheets had all been thrown up on. So the rest of the weekend I was on edge wondering if/when the next round of vomit would begin.  But after a 4-5 hour nap, little Stephen seemed much better.

2. Mommy gets the flu too: Monday night at 8:30 I began my puking rally.  I can not remember the last time that I threw up from being actually sick.  I felt like puke was going to shoot out of my ears and eyeballs, not just my mouth and nose.  It was rediculous the amount that came out of me!! From 8:30 to 6am I continually ran to the bathroom about every half hour.  Finally at 5 I told Robin that he had to stay home from work and manage the children. I don’t think that I could have even lifted Stephen out of his crib if I tried.

3. Dr appointment: Baby is smaller than it should have been at that time.  So they moved the due date back to June 16th. Follow up ultrasound is scheduled for Dec 11. Other than that, no other news.

4. Thanksgiving Weekend: Lets just say that we didn’t have our Turkey Day until Saturday.  Thank you very much Air Products!!

5. Let the Christmas shopping and decorating extravaganza begin!! I had a very successfull shopping day on Monday.  I got 3 people done plus St. Nick stuff! The tree also went up on Monday.  I am having regrets about that.  Stephen had only broken one glass ornament at this point, but there have been lots of “NO!”, “Don’t Touch!”, and “HOT!” I think he is finally understanding that the tree is for looking at not touching.

6. New words: Stephen has added BABY, WEEEE, and DOE DOE to his vocabulary.  I think sometimes I hear All Done too, but I could be imaging that. I am working on Ho Ho Ho, (maybe that is where the doe doe came from), Santa, and tree.  Hopefully by Christmas it will have come out of Stephen’s mouth and not just mine.

The day from HELL! November 16, 2007

It all started at 4am when Lyhna started vomiting, which subsequently woke up Stephen.  The barfing continued all day until 1pm when I finally called her mother to come get her because I had a lot of running around to do to get things organized to go up north for opening weekend.  Dear old mommy didn’t take her to the doctor until 6pm when Lyhna started to complain about right side pain.  Hello appendix?!? So then they go to the hopital to meet with a surgen to see if it needs to come out.  While all this was going on Robin was off sighting in his gun.  I finally got ahold of him to tell him what was going on.  Well, on his way home he took out a 9-point buck with the car.  GREAT!! Lyhna finally gets home so we go see her at 8:30ish.  She needed to go to a follow-up this morning at 7am.  In the end: The appendix is staying in, she needs to be rehydrated, the car needs a new radiator among other things, and our plan to be at the cabin all day Friday has been thwarted.  Lyhna will not be coming with us, and we won’t get there until 3 or 4 at the earliest (depending on the vehicle situation).

Update… July 6, 2007

Filed under: Family, Leetopia, Milestones — Renee @ 7:33 pm

It’s been awhile since I last wrote a post.  Again not much new other than:

1. Stephen got his first hair-cut (see pics on flickr)

2. Stephen saw his first fireworks.  Being that they are so late I put him to bed super early so when I woke him up to see the fireworks he wouldn’t be so cranky (very effective). I wasn’t sure how he would handle the loud booms so we watched from a giant sledding hill right by our house.  It was great because we could see fireworks all around us.  He was a little unsure at first but before we knew it he yelled at every single one he saw.

3. Right now as I type by best friend is having a baby.  She was admitted this morning around 9am after being sent home once already this week with false labor.  I am very upset that I can’t be there with her since my husband is gone on a fishing trip and won’t be back with the only reliable vehicle we have until Sunday.  I can’t wait to see Tyson or Brooklyn.  They did not find out ahead of time so this is extra exciting.  Hang in there Shel…Breathe, Breathe, Breathe!!! Check out her website to see all that’s happening with the new baby (www.summerbean.wordpress.com)!

You may have noticed that it has been a long time since I posted.  My computer took a shit.  Finally we took it in to geek squad.  We needed a new power supply, no big deal.  The ridiculous part is that they wanted $40 to put in a part that was only $30. Screw that!!! Anyways, we went to the cabin for Memorial Day weekend and had lots of fun (could have done without the plague of ticks).  Check out the new pics.

Happy Mother’s Day!! May 13, 2007

Filed under: Family, Leetopia — Renee @ 11:11 pm

Well, today is my first offical Mother’s Day.  All I really wanted to do today was sleep in.  But that wish went right out the window when the doorbell rang at 7:15 am.  Who was it you ask… The ex to come get her daughter for the day.  That is a little early don’t ya think? Anyway, my gift: 10 tanning sessions and 2 bottles of wine!!! For once hubby put some thought into a gift and didn’t make me go shopping for myself.

Yesterday we decided to pack up the kids for a rode trip to the cabin for the day.  It ended up being a beautiful day, much warmer than I anticipated.  Lyhna was able to see Grandma and give her the present we worked on together (See picture below).  The kids went swimming in the blow up pool.  How was I supposed to know that 60s in Neenah means 85 in Leetopia? So poor Lyhna went in her undies and t-shirt while Beebo went in the nude. We played Hillbilly Horse-Shoes; first I took out my brother-in-law, then Dad and I teamed up to take down Robin and John.  It must really suck to get beat by a girl and a grandpa!!! Sorry Guys. And to top of a wonderful day with the family was a fantastic rib dinner.  Hands down the best ribs I ever had in my entire life.

The ride home was a whole other story.  The first half hour was great, both kids zonked out instantly.  We stopped for gas in Wisconsin Rapids and to switch drivers and Beebo unleashed the devil within him.  We are talking 1 hour of straight screaming.  Since I was driving there was nothing that I could do to calm him down and Robin found some earplugs and went to sleep.  I eventually gave up and pulled over.  I made a bottle- no deal, found the nuk- no deal, blankie- no deal, caterpillar music- no deal.  Absolutely nothing I pulled out of my Mommy bag of tricks worked. Either he was really ticked off that we left Leetopia or he’s got more teeth coming in.  I can’t come up with any other explanation.  So with that said I am handing over all bathing and other night time duties to Daddy and cracking open one of my bottles of wine and enjoying Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Desperate Housewives.  Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!!
