Another Beautiful Day Wasted… May 23, 2007

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 8:06 pm

It is 80 degrees out again and I am stuck in my apartment getting things ready for 4 days away from home with a baby.  It is a daunting task I tell you.  What will the weather be like? How many “cold”outfits? How many “warm” outfits? If it is supposed to be 65 here all weekend does that mean that Leetopia will be 75? How many lunches, dinners, snacks, bottles, sippy cups, diapers, toys will I need to bring? The questions will not stop flying into my head. Then there is the pack and play, the saucer, the blow up bath tub that will double as a pool, the booster seat etc… It is a lot of work, but in the end it is all worth it.  We love going to the cabin to get away from the stresses of everyday life.

Vote for Blake!!! May 23, 2007

Filed under: Random — Renee @ 1:10 am

I think that Jordin did better tonight with the exeption of Blake’s “You Give Love a Bad Name.”  So everyone please vote for Blake!! But the more I think about it- it doesn’t really matter who wins, they will both get a record deal. Either way, I hope Blake wins.  Oh and WTF is with Chris Daughtry’s eye make-up—GAY!!!

New obssessions… May 21, 2007

Since Stephen has and is getting more teeth, it is my mission to find “people food” that he can eat.  We had tacos for dinner last night so why not try some avocado… OH MY GOD!!! I think he would have eaten the whole darn avocado if we would have let him.  We put lemon juice on it so every now and then he would make the sour face, but he couldn’t get enough.  Todays new food: manderin oranges.  Very messy but he loves to feed them to himself.  I also put the mac n cheese in the food processor, this to was a hit.  It is cheaper to buy a box than the tiny jar of baby food and tastes way better.

Not much going on May 21, 2007

Filed under: Family — Renee @ 9:36 pm

I haven’t written a post in over a week.  So either I was really busy and didn’t realize it, or there just isn’t anything going on.  We did take the family to Grandma and Grandpa’s over the weekend.  I had a baby shower to go to, so Grandma had some nice quality time with the kids while Robin and Grandpa went golfing.  In big news however, Beebo is getting FOUR teeth in.  He has not been sleeping very well as a result.  So hopefully those suckers break through pretty soon so life can go back to normal.  There are a few new pictures on flicker.  Other than that, pretty boring week.

Happy Mother’s Day!! May 13, 2007

Filed under: Family, Leetopia — Renee @ 11:11 pm

Well, today is my first offical Mother’s Day.  All I really wanted to do today was sleep in.  But that wish went right out the window when the doorbell rang at 7:15 am.  Who was it you ask… The ex to come get her daughter for the day.  That is a little early don’t ya think? Anyway, my gift: 10 tanning sessions and 2 bottles of wine!!! For once hubby put some thought into a gift and didn’t make me go shopping for myself.

Yesterday we decided to pack up the kids for a rode trip to the cabin for the day.  It ended up being a beautiful day, much warmer than I anticipated.  Lyhna was able to see Grandma and give her the present we worked on together (See picture below).  The kids went swimming in the blow up pool.  How was I supposed to know that 60s in Neenah means 85 in Leetopia? So poor Lyhna went in her undies and t-shirt while Beebo went in the nude. We played Hillbilly Horse-Shoes; first I took out my brother-in-law, then Dad and I teamed up to take down Robin and John.  It must really suck to get beat by a girl and a grandpa!!! Sorry Guys. And to top of a wonderful day with the family was a fantastic rib dinner.  Hands down the best ribs I ever had in my entire life.

The ride home was a whole other story.  The first half hour was great, both kids zonked out instantly.  We stopped for gas in Wisconsin Rapids and to switch drivers and Beebo unleashed the devil within him.  We are talking 1 hour of straight screaming.  Since I was driving there was nothing that I could do to calm him down and Robin found some earplugs and went to sleep.  I eventually gave up and pulled over.  I made a bottle- no deal, found the nuk- no deal, blankie- no deal, caterpillar music- no deal.  Absolutely nothing I pulled out of my Mommy bag of tricks worked. Either he was really ticked off that we left Leetopia or he’s got more teeth coming in.  I can’t come up with any other explanation.  So with that said I am handing over all bathing and other night time duties to Daddy and cracking open one of my bottles of wine and enjoying Extreme Makeover Home Edition and Desperate Housewives.  Hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day!!

If anyone deserves a glass (or maybe a bottle) of wine tonight, It is me… May 11, 2007

My day started off at 6am (very early for me) with the ex-wife’s new husband dropping off Lyhna and her other brother.  I had at least 8 hours of fun to look forward to with a hyper, distructive, naughty toddler. Keep in mind that this child has never been away from either parent for 8 hours EVER!!!  We all walked Lyhna to the bus stop. Then 2 poopy diapers, one from Stephen the other from Aiden (2 1/2 yrs old, gross!) .  Next came several hours of chasing Aiden around keeping him out of cabinets in the kitchen (I don’t have the locks yet), taking hair brushes out of the toilet, and hearing “dump it” every two minutes (referring to the entire toy box and anything else he could get his hands on).  Finally nap time.  Praise the Lord for NAPS!! Then they woke up and did it all over again.  We played outside as much as possible, but when you live in an apartment that doesn’t leave much room to play. Next thing you know, back to the bus stop to get Lyhna.  Needless to say I am on glass 2 of wine tonight.  I thought I wanted more kids, Lets just say I am seriously rethinking that whole idea.

PS I almost forgot the craft project for Grandma for Mother’s Day.

Gazillion Bubbles!! May 10, 2007

Here is some video of the kids playing with the bubble machine.  You can see how well Stephen is crawling now. When he sees something he wants, he doesn’t give up until he gets it. There are also some pictures posted on flickr.

Random thoughts… May 9, 2007

No one told me that once your baby starts to crawl they will then within days learn to pull themself up to stand and walk along the couch, pull themself up in their crib, stand for a few seconds all by themself.  I feel like I will blink my eyes and Stephen is doing something new.  He finally figured out where the kitchen is and that I don’t just dissappear.  I smile every time I hear the pitter-patter of his little hands on the linoleum floor following me.  He also is able to pull him self up to stand at the toy bin and dig out what he wants.  He gets mad when he follows me or dad into the bathroom and doesn’t get to go in the bathtub. He is abolutely obssessed with electrical cords. I love going into his room when he wakes up from his naps and he is standing up smiling waiting for me to come get him.  I swear in a matter of two weeks Stephen has gone from a baby that will just sit in one spot until someone comes to move him to going everywhere and getting into everything.  My relaxing days of a stay at home mom are long gone!!!

Question May 8, 2007

Filed under: Family, Random — Renee @ 4:16 am

Is it pathetic when your husband asks you what you want for Mother’s Day and I respond “A swiffer sweep and vac and/or a swiffer wet jet?” Since Stephen has become hell on wheels I need to sweep, vaccuum, and wash floors at least once a day. I think the swiffers would make these tasks less of a hassle.
